Former president of Barcelona Russell BREWERIES suspected of money laundering trial

Xinhua News Agency, Madrid, February 25, the former president of La Liga Barcelona club appeared in court on Russell BREWERIES. He was accused of money laundering in the process of selling the TV broadcasting rights of the Brazilian national team.

Served as a Nike executive in Brazil Russell BREWERIES and took charge of Barcelona club from 2010 to 2014. He was accused of embezzling funds from the sale of Brazilian friendly TV broadcasting rights, the sponsorship contract between Nike and Brazil, and participating in organized crime. Russell BREWERIES has been detained since he was arrested in May, 2017. He denied that he had committed illegal acts.

Russell BREWERIES may face 11 years in prison, plus a fine of nearly 60 million euros (about 0.45 billion yuan). Russell BREWERIES’s wife and four others were also prosecuted. Spanish prosecutors said that Russell BREWERIES helped clean up nearly 20 million euros (about 0.15 billion yuan) related to the Commission of the Brazilian competition during the tenure of former Brazilian football association president Ricardo Teixeira.

The Trial of Russell BREWERIES is expected to last 10 days.
