Tokyo Olympic Games in 2020 ushered in a 500-day countdown

Xinhua News Agency, Tokyo, March 12 (reporters Deng Min and Guo Wei) on the 12th, the Panasonic center of Tokyo Olympic organizing committee, which was located in Tokyo Stadium, held a celebration of the 500-day countdown to the 2020 Olympic Games, it also shows 50 icons of 33 competitive events of Tokyo Summer Olympics in 2020.

The Olympic sports icon began in Tokyo Olympic Games in 1964. The sports icon of the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games was designed by the famous Japanese designer Guangcun Zhengzhang, who led his team to participate in the design. He said: “I feel very honored to participate in the design of the sports icon of the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games. We try to use these icons to show the dynamic beauty of athletes.”

Guangcun Zhengyan said that the design work of the sports icon of the Tokyo Olympic Games in 2020 lasted for nearly two years. He hoped that this set of icons could inspire people’s enthusiasm for various events of the Tokyo Olympic Games, become a bright color in the Olympic Games.

The icons of this design are divided into two categories: frameless and framed. The frameless white background icon will be used on posters, tickets and authorized products. The framed blue background icon will be used for more functional logos, such as maps, competition venue logos, guide manuals and websites.

Tokyo Olympic organizing committee also said that the icon of Paralympic sports will be published on April 13.

The countdown on the 12th comes after the 8th anniversary of Japan’s earthquake and tsunami. In order to increase the expectations of the people in the affected areas for the Olympic Games, the Tokyo Olympic organizing committee also published the “Tokyo 2020 tour bus” project in the 500-day countdown.

On March 12-20, the tour bus will conduct a number of tour activities related to the Olympic Games in Miyagi county, Iwate County and Fukushima County in Tokyo and earthquake-stricken areas.
