Wan Xu, director of Henan Sports Bureau and secretary of the party group, Wan Jianbin, director of the competition department of tennis Sports Management Center of the State General Administration of Sports, Faris, managing director of WTA Asia Pacific, Xiong Jianhua, president of APG company, rong Changan, director of the Central Plains tennis center, sat in front of the chairman’s desk and accepted media questions. At the meeting, Wan Xu, director of Henan Sports Bureau and party secretary, released various information about this event.
It is reported that there is no restriction on high-ranking players in the competition. The final of this competition will be held on September 15. The total bonus of the competition will be no less than 1 million US dollars. Morgan Menahem, vice president of operation of APG company and Rong Chang’an, the director of the Central Plains tennis center, served as the joint competition director. Every round of promotion in the competition will get the corresponding WTA world ranking points and bonuses, with the singles champion points reaching 470 points, it is 80 points more than the top 4 in crown-level events such as the China Open, and 40 points more than the top 8 in Grand Slam events.
Wan Xu, director of Henan Sports Bureau, said that Zhengzhou is a new city in China’s tennis landscape in recent years. The 2019 Zhengzhou Open will surely attract more high-level world-class star players to take part in the competition in Zheng, so that the majority of tennis enthusiasts in the Central Plains can enjoy the world’s top tennis events without going abroad, feel the charm of tennis and stimulate the enthusiasm of the masses to participate in tennis, promote the development of tennis in Zhengzhou and even the central plains.
This event is hosted by China Tennis Association, Henan Provincial Sports Bureau, Zhengzhou Municipal People’s Government, and hosted by Central Plains Tennis Center. It is currently the international tennis event with the highest specifications in Central Plains, there are two projects of women’s singles and women’s doubles, with 28 right-selected signatures, 32 pre-selected signatures and 16 double-played signatures.
