On the World Cup, at the entrance ceremony of each match, the players of both sides will enter under the guidance of the FIFA flag, and those who act as flag guards, they are all 9 to 17-year-old teenagers recruited by FIFA worldwide. In this year’s French women’s football World Cup, there were 312 flagbearers in all 52 matches.
In addition to the six children who served as flag guards in the opening battle, the other six will serve as flag guards in the match between group F US team and Thailand team.
Cui Miaomiao from Zhengzhou No. 31 Middle School is a guard of the football team of the school. She fell in love with playing football in primary school and her dream was to become a professional football player. “This is my first time as a flag bearer, and it is also my first time to go abroad. I am very excited and looking forward to it. I will cherish this opportunity and show the world a good image of Chinese teenagers.”
It is understood that these 12 teenagers were jointly selected by Henan Football Association and Henan Football Development Foundation. In addition to completing the task of flag guards, they will also participate in a series of cultural exchange activities.
