Help winter Olympics celebrate June 1 Winter Olympics volunteers to enter campus

Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, May 31 (reporter Xia Zilin) volunteers from the skiing team of Beijing Winter Olympic organizing committee came to Shijia Primary School on the morning of the 31st to carry out the theme activity of “participating in Winter Olympic Games and loving China. The volunteers shared the experience of athletes with the students, taught the knowledge of the Winter Olympics competition project, and led the children to experience the winter Olympics competition project personally to welcome the Children’s Day on June 1.

Winter Olympics volunteers walked into the classroom and walked onto the platform to explain the knowledge of competition projects such as cold water jug, short track speed skating, freestyle skiing, etc, I also watched the Knowledge Introduction film of the Winter Olympics competition project produced by Beijing BOCOG with my classmates. 14 World Champions of winter sports such as Wu Dajing, the men’s 500-meter short track speed skating champion of the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics, sent Children’s Day wishes to the students of Shijia Primary School through video.

Wang Bingyu, director of the cold water jug project competition of the sports department of the Beijing Winter Olympic organizing committee and the former captain of the Chinese women’s cold water jug team, said when sharing the story of athletes preparing for war: “Athletes often wear a sword for ten years. We did hard training until we won a gold medal for our country on the court. We really felt glorious and proud. The fate of each of us is closely linked with our motherland. Only by closely combining the realization of our own value with the service and dedication to our motherland can our life be more brilliant.”

Winter Olympics volunteers also brought rich and colorful ice and snow sports experience projects to students. Students in grade 6 of Shijia Primary School came to the playground and participated in winter project experience activities such as land cold water jug, cross-country ski pulley, dry land ice hockey, etc, the team members of the ski team of Beijing Winter Olympic organizing committee will give guidance on the spot.

Zhou Jiahe, a sixth-grade student of Shijia Primary School, was not very old, but he began to contact ice hockey at the age of 5 and has been selected into Beijing Youth U12 ice hockey team. He said that ice hockey is not only a sport for him, but also a spirit that enables him to “fight tenaciously for it and be fearless”.

While the Winter Olympics knowledge entered the classroom and the ice and snow sports entered the playground, several Olympic champions such as Zhao Yunlei, the champion of the Olympic badminton project, entered the library of historian primary school and participated in the Olympic story meeting, I communicated with my classmates about topics such as “the honor of the motherland is above everything” and “struggle is the most beautiful background color of youth. Zhao Yunlei said that he hoped to share his mental journey as an athlete, “bring this kind of sports spirit of not giving up and daring to challenge himself to students’ life and study, facing other challenges of life”.

It is understood that since the countdown to the Beijing Winter Olympic Games on the evening of May 10, the human resources department of the Beijing Winter Olympic organizing committee, the news and propaganda department, the Beijing Youth League Committee and other units jointly launched the ten demonstration projects of “welcoming the Winter Olympic Games” voluntary service. This activity is one of the ten demonstration projects and will be carried out in depth on the eve of Children’s Day on June 1.
