Peking University and Tsinghua University will jointly host the Northeast competition, University of Electronic Science and Technology, china University of Mining and Technology and Qinghai Normal University have become host universities in southwest, southeast and northwest regions respectively.
The first game will be the Northeast Division, which will be held in Beijing from March 16 to 24. Peking University rejoined the CUBA series after 5 years. The Northeast Division can be described as strong as Lin. Among the top four of CUBA last year, Peking University and China Airlines all came from this division, and Peking University won the championship for two consecutive years. The old rival Tsinghua also achieved good results and held the championship trophy in his hand. The “Northern Qing War”, known as the “Wudaokou Derby”, is very likely to be staged on the regional final day (March 24).
According to the competition system, there will be 6 teams in each of the 20 men’s basketball teams in each competition area, and they will directly enter the national competition. 7-10 (16 teams in total) need to move to Northeastern University for the play-off, compete for the last 8 places to advance to the top 32 in the country; Women’s basketball is 12 teams in each division competition, and the top 6 enter the top 24 in the country.
According to the schedule, the four major competition areas will compete for the top 32 in the country before the middle of May, and the 32 teams after the disruption and re-draw will gather again and catch each other. Compared with the top 24 matches in previous years, this expansion will allow more CUBA potential teams to enter the national competition and participate in the competition, while creating more highlights. The competition system of single defeat and elimination can make the competition more thrilling. The 21st CUBA ended all the events of the grassroots competition before the Spring Festival. In the first-level competitions of 16 provinces, municipalities, autonomous regions and municipalities with key packaging, the number of matches reached 647, with more than 3,000 players participating.
