China News Service, Dubai, February 6th at the invitation of the Asian Paralympic Committee, the Beijing Winter Olympic organizing committee delegation went to Dubai, UAE, on February 3-6, participate in the plenary session of the Asian Paralympic Committee in 2019 and make a keynote statement on the progress of the preparation work of Beijing 2022 Winter Paralympic Games.
The plenary session summarized the development of Asian disabled sports in the past two years, and fully affirmed the achievements including the successful holding of Asian youth disabled games in 2017, the successful holding of Jakarta Paralympic Games in 2018 and the Pyeongchang Winter Paralympic Games. The conference specially listened to the introduction of the organizing committee of Jakarta Asian Paralympic Games, Tokyo Olympic organizing committee, Beijing Winter Olympic organizing committee and Hangzhou Asian Paralympic Games organizing committee. Zhao Sujing, director of physical education department of China Disabled Persons’ Federation, voted as the vice chairman of the Asian Paralympic Committee.
The delegation of Beijing Winter Olympic organizing committee made a keynote statement at the plenary session, comprehensively introducing the latest progress, working mechanism and future prospects of the preparation work of Beijing 2022 Winter Paralympic Games, focusing on the governance structure concerned by the plenary session, nine aspects, including international exchange and cooperation, venue construction, Paralympic integration and accessibility, sports, sports games services, market development, publicity, culture and heritage, shared their experiences and practices, it expresses the overall work situation of “synchronous planning and implementation” of Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics and Winter Paralympic Games, ensuring that the two Olympic games are equally exciting.
The chairman of the Asian Paralympic Committee, majet, and the delegates spoke highly of the statement made by the Beijing Winter Olympic organizing committee. They believed that the preparation work of the Beijing Winter Olympic organizing committee was steady and orderly, and they were full of confidence in the successful holding of the Beijing 2022 Winter Paralympic Games, full of expectation.
During the meeting, the Beijing Winter Olympic organizing committee delegation also met and communicated with the chairman and secretary-general of the Asian Paralympic Committee, and met with the relevant person in charge of the International Paralympic Committee, the chairman of the European Paralympic Committee, the chairman of the Pakistan Paralympic Committee, the secretary-general of the Japanese Paralympic Committee, the representatives of the Paralympic Games of South Korea, Kazakhstan, Mongolia and other countries and the representatives of disabled athletes respectively made friendly contacts and communicated on issues of concern.
The President of the European Paralympic Committee Kovacic sent an invitation to the Beijing Winter Olympic organizing committee, hoping to introduce the preparation work of the Beijing Winter Paralympic Games at the plenary meeting of the European Paralympic Committee held in May this year.
The Asian Paralympic Committee is composed of 43 national (regional) Paralympic committees and is the main driving force of the Asian disabled movement. The plenary session is held every two years. More than 200 delegates attended the plenary session of the Asian Paralympic Committee, which is the largest one so far. In addition to the 41 national (regional) Paralympic Committees participating in the conference, representatives from the International Paralympic Committee, the International Federation of individual sports and the plenary session of the European Paralympic Committee were also invited to attend the conference.
