Nigeria won the championship in the Sino-African junior football friendly match

Xinhua News Agency, Changsha, June 29 (Reporter Xie Ying) on the afternoon of 29th, after 5 days and 20 fierce competitions, the “Lianyuan Steel Cup” Sino-African Youth football friendly match ended in Loudi city, Hunan province.

In the final of the day, Nigeria defeated Shanghai Football Association 3:0 and won the championship of this competition. In the previous third place battle, Guangdong Meizhou defeated Ethiopia 2:1.

The First Sino-African Youth football friendly match of “Lianyuan Steel Cup” was jointly held by Hunan Provincial Sports Bureau and Loudi municipal government. The youth football teams from Kenya, Ethiopia, Tanzania and Nigeria in Africa compete with four domestic U11 football teams, including the Shanghai Football Association team, Guangdong Meizhou team, Shandong Jinan team and Loudi Football Association team.

During the competition, the participating teams dedicated a wonderful competition to the audience with good competitive level and spiritual outlook, attracting nearly 80000 people to watch it on the spot, 200000 people watched the game through live webcast. At the same time, the competition also organized African athletes to enter Loudi’s family, school and community to strengthen sports and cultural exchanges between China and Africa.

In the future, the competition will be held every two years, simultaneously with the China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo.
