Zhang Guowei changed his career because of injury?
Recently, Zhang Guowei, a famous Chinese high jumper, cooperated with several variety shows and recorded multiple programs, including running men, coming to the Championship and escaping from the secret room. Reviewing his recent performance is related to his injury distress after Rio Olympics. Due to the unstable injury, Zhang Guowei failed to participate in the Jakarta Asian Games last year. Zhang Guowei did not participate in indoor tournament at the beginning of this year.
Zhang Guowei, born in 1991, became famous young. In 2013, he broke Zhu Jianhua’s 27-year indoor national high jump record with 2 meters 32 in the national indoor track and field championships. In 2014, Zhang Guowei won the silver medal of high jump in the Incheon Asian Games with a score of 2 meters 33. Zhang Guowei jumped out of the 2 M 38 to win the runner-up in the IAAF Diamond League match in May 2015, only one centimeter away from Zhu Jianhua’s national record of 2 m 39 which had been maintained for 31 years. In the 2015 World Track and Field Championships, Zhang Guowei won the silver medal with 2 meters 33.
In recent years, the impact level of Zhang Guowei’s injury has declined, and the Tokyo Olympic Games has greatly raised the threshold for promotion. Zhang Guowei hopes to make an appearance in the competition more and more difficult.
Be punished and deducted for violation of team rules
The Track and Field Sports Management Center of the State General Administration of Sports released a document on March 14-“The punishment decision on Zhang Guowei’s illegal participation in commercial activities”, which showed that, high jumper Zhang Guowei made up reasons for going out to participate in commercial activities twice at the end of February and early March, seriously violating team rules, interfering with the normal preparation and management of the national team, causing adverse effects.
According to the document, the national team gave Zhang Guowei four penalties: 1. Report criticism within the team; 2. Deduct training allowance from January to March this year; 3. Stop participating in all domestic and foreign competitions and some social activities; 4. They will be dismissed from the team for inspection, and will stop issuing training allowances, workout devices and other national team treatments.
Zhang Guowei responded, “I’m still fighting”
As the track and field Sports Management Center of the State General Administration of Sports punished the high jumper Zhang Guowei in the form of documents, Zhang Guowei responded on his personal microblog on March 17.
Zhang Guowei said, “through the earnest teaching of the leaders of the center, I deeply felt the care, love and expectation of the leaders, and expressed understanding and tolerance for my behavior leaders. Please rest assured that Zhang Guowei is still fighting in the front line of the national team, and everything he should undertake for his dream will not be less!
