Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, April 11th question: serving the media to make the Winter Olympics wonderful

— visiting Anthony, the media operation director of the International Olympic Committee

The Story of the Olympic Stadium, it can always stir people’s hearts, and the media is the most important carrier to make these stories spread all over the world. As Samaranch, the honorary president of the International Olympic Committee for life, said, “the media is the judge of the success of the Olympic Games”. It is an essential task for a successful Olympic Games to do a good job in media operation and serve the media so that they can finish their work smoothly.

What is media running? What role does it play in an Olympic Games? What does Xinhua News Agency mean to become an international news agency recognized by the International Olympic Committee? Anthony Edgar, the media operation director of the International Olympic Committee, gave the answer.

This week, the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics held the first world news agency conference. This is the first time that BOCOG officially introduced the progress of media operation preparations to major news organizations around the world. The nine news agencies invited to attend the meeting include the Associated Press, Reuters, AFP, Xinhua News Agency and other four international news agencies recognized by the International Olympic Committee, as well as the Gatti photo agency, the European news photo agency, the Kyodo News Agency of Japan, the United States today, world famous news organizations such as the New York Times.

Anthony said: “The representatives of these news agencies came to Beijing this time to learn about the preparations for the Beijing Winter Olympics. I exchanged views with representatives of major news agencies, and we all have very high expectations for the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics.”

The media operation related to the Olympic Games mainly involves providing working environment, facilities and services for the media such as videos, texts and pictures registered in the Olympic Games. For example, the main news center and venue media center construction, photography services, as well as media accommodation, transportation, technology, network, registration, charge card, Olympic information services, etc. In addition to meeting these basic reporting needs of the media, it is also necessary to provide professional services for different customer groups, such as media workshop rental, photography and instant transmission technical support, etc.

In addition to the services for text, photography and non-rights broadcasters, another important component of media operation is the Olympic relay service, assisting the Olympic relay service company (OBS) and rights-holding broadcasters provide Olympic broadcasting and television public signals to the world’s Olympic rights-holding broadcasters.

As the largest sports event in the world, the Olympic Games attracted thousands of journalists to report. If you count the number of OBS, there are about 25000 registered media in the summer Olympics and 15000 in the Winter Olympics. The difficulty of media operation is self-evident.

Anthony bluntly said that the operation of Olympic media is to ensure that the media finish their work. “This means a lot of things. Since the media arrived in Beijing, their transportation, accommodation and communication equipment need to be guaranteed. When media come to the venue, they need to find jobs, such as photography seats, camera stands, media stands, mixed interview areas and press conferences. In short, the media operation should provide the media with the necessary services and facilities.”

After the baptism of 2008 Beijing Olympic Games and 2014 Nanjing Youth Olympic Games, the word “media operation” has increasingly entered people’s attention. Anthony pointed out that different from the 2008 Summer Olympics, the cold weather of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics will bring new challenges to the media operation.

“From the perspective of media, photography, photography and text reporters all need to deal with very low temperatures. For example, photography and camera reporters had to sit in the ice and snow and shoot alpine skiing events for 5 hours in a row. At that time, the temperature might be as low as minus 20 or 30 degrees Celsius. The reporting environment faced by the media will be very different. The organizing committee should ensure that the media are properly taken care of and the communication conditions of the media should be guaranteed.” He said.

Beijing Winter Olympics has 109 small items. It is a difficult task for a single media to achieve full coverage of the Olympic Games. Especially under the background of the sluggish media industry, many media have reduced the number of Olympic journalists. Contrary to this, in the Internet news era, in order to meet the needs of the audience, the media need to report news from different venues.

Therefore, Olympic information service (OIS) has become an important field of media operation. OIS will provide professional English sports reports and information services to help registered media receive information and achieve the maximum coverage of Olympic reports. Before the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, this service was undertaken by the local organizing committee. For hosts whose mother tongue is not English, it is sometimes difficult to recruit hundreds of native English journalists and run an English news service.

Therefore, under the guidance of the Olympic 2020 agenda, the International Olympic Committee considers providing the organizing committee with an overall solution in areas requiring highly professional Olympic skills. The International Olympic Committee is now responsible for forming the OIS team and taking over the Olympic information service with the help of the organizing committee. The media operation department of the organizing committee will mainly focus on serving registered media, which can greatly reduce costs.

Every registered journalist can receive professional reports from OIS during the Olympic Games. Anthony introduced that OIS would not rob the media, but only help the media provide key information about athletes and competitions. These information media may not have the opportunity to obtain, such as direct quotation, expert comments, key data, real-time updated event information, etc. More importantly, OIS allows the media to cover those competitions that cannot go to the stadium, so that the Olympic Games can be spread more widely.

On January this year, Xinhua News Agency officially became the international news agency recognized by the International Olympic Committee, becoming the only new international news agency recognized by the International Olympic Committee and the first non-European and American international news agency in more than 30 years.

The International Olympic Committee divides world media organizations into two categories: international news agencies with global influence and national/regional news agencies with regional influence. Media organizations recognized as international news agencies have priority in Olympic sports reports, including ensuring sufficient registration quota for Olympic news reports, free priority of the main news center, ensure the position of text and photography interview in the stadium.

What does it mean to become an international news agency recognized by the International Olympic Committee? Anthony said that this was a very important recognition. “Over the past 30 years, the International Olympic Committee has only recognized AFP, AP and Reuters as international news agencies. There are many reasons why the International Olympic Committee has recognized Xinhua News Agency as international news agency, the main reason is that China has become a major country participating in the Olympic Games, and China is one of the largest countries in the world. Xinhua News Agency is one of the largest news agencies in the world, with branches all over the world. Xinhua News Agency not only produces Chinese content for the Chinese market, but also produces multilingual content for the international market. The International Olympic Committee recognized Xinhua News Agency as an international news agency and formed a partnership with Xinhua News Agency, thus helping Xinhua news agency to better report the Olympic movement, the International Olympic Committee, especially the Olympic Games.”

Beijing Institute of Technology crowned CUFA Super First year champion

This is also the first national champion born after CUFA restructured and added the Super League.

Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, June 12th, 12th, in the 2018-2019 Adidas National Youth Campus Football League College Group (CUFA) Men’s High Level Group Super League final round contest, Beijing Institute of Technology team 2:0 beat the Central South University team, thus winning the championship with a two-round victory. This is also the first national champion born after CUFA restructured and added the Super League.

In the first round, the two sides won 1:1 at the regular time. Because the competition system requires every match to win, the two sides entered the penalty kick war and won the Beijing Institute of Technology Press War with 5:3 penalty kick, thus the total score was 6:4 win.

After the opening of the round, the two sides changed the conservative and prudent tactics of the first round and fought against each other. After three years of suffering, Beijing Institute of Technology Press young pioneer team history finally added the tenth crown to the Honor Book.

China university students ‘football league matches, founded in 2000, has carried out a substantial reform in recent years. Universities and junior and senior high schools at all levels of Campus Football League get through. The former football league was restructured into the national youth campus football University League, including high-level groups, higher Vocational College Group, campus group, among which the high-level group is divided into the first level of the Super League and the second level of the Champions League. It was the first champion trophy in the first year of CUFA’s Super Championship in Beijing Institute of Technology Press. A total of 1292 teams and 32300 athletes participated in CUFA this season, with more than 4500 games game session. Since the elimination stage of the Super League, the main and away game system has been implemented on campus, which greatly increases the intensity of the competition and also sets a lift level with the Champions League. Since this year’s CUFA stipulates that every game will be won and lost at the beginning of the elimination match, there will be 7 penalty kick matches in the season.

Beijing Institute of Technology Press captain Chen Zixuan said: “It is of great significance for me to win this championship before graduation. I believe that this group of main forces in Beijing Institute of Technology Press can take this as a new starting point, pass on the glory of Beijing Institute of Technology Press.”

Coach Yu Fei said: “We have waited for three years for this champion, and today we finally succeeded (won) Ten championships, but I believe this is not the end. I also expect my players to continue to fight for the next champion from today and continue to defend the glory of Beijing Institute of Technology Press on the campus football court.”

Chinas track and field team Spring Festival non-stop work Su Bingtian Spring Festival overseas competition

Chinas track and field team the Spring Festival keeps working

The Spring Festival is a day for family reunion, but there is no holiday or rest Chinas track and field team this spring festival.

2019 is the year of the world championships in track and field. In order to better prepare for the World Championships in Doha and lay a solid foundation for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, winter training is Chinas track and field team dispersed to many places according to the characteristics of the project. Some are far away from foreign countries, some are in Beijing, Lijiang, Fuzhou and other places, and some athletes will go abroad to participate in competitions during the Spring Festival. Of course, they all have a common goal, which is to turn the sweat of winter training into joy on the court.

During the Spring Festival, multiple generals of the Chinas track and field team jump Group and throw Group are also busy with training or competition. Wang Yu, the famous high jumper, traveled around the world to participate in various indoor events. Women’s shot world champion Li Li and his teammates trained in the United States.

Focus on Su Bingtian going abroad for the Spring Festival

during the Spring Festival of 2018, Su Bingtian moved around the world to participate in the IAAF World Indoor Tour, which successively refreshed the men’s Asian record of 60 meters. It was also because of the excellent state of the indoor stadium at the beginning of the year that Su Bingtian ushered in a big outbreak in 2018, which not only tied the Asian record for 100 meters, but also won the championship in the Asian Games.

Compared with last Spring Festival, Su Bingtian had one more identity this year. In the middle of July, 2018, his son was born. Su Bingtian, who was promoted to his father, went out for training or participated in competitions, I have more care. Whenever seeing acquaintances, Su Bingtian always talks about his son casually.

According to the plan, Su Bingtian will end the winter training in the past two days, and his 2019 season will start with it. Before the end of the Spring Festival holiday, Su Bingtian would leave abroad, waiting for him for several consecutive indoor events.

For the first show in 2019, Su Bingtian chose a Indoor tournament held in aslon, Ireland on February 13. In order to adjust his status as soon as possible, he needed to prepare for the war abroad in advance. Then he will go to Birmingham and düswood without stopping to participate in the two-stop IAAF indoor tour.

In 2018, Su Bingtian’s 60 meters ran 6 seconds, 50 seconds, and 6 seconds 43 in Birmingham and Dusseldorf respectively, and then went to Fudi to participate in the competition. He naturally hoped to achieve good results, “look for the feeling in the first stop, the next two stations strive for good results.”

In addition, the organizing committee of the competition is also building momentum for Su Bingtian’s competition. A few days ago, the official website of IAAF released the news that Su Bingtian would appear at Birmingham station. The article said that Su Bingtian was the silver medal winner of the indoor track and field world championship, three excellent British sprinters will be played in the Birmingham station and defend their title of defending the championship.

Of course, in addition to the indoor events at the beginning of the year, Su Bingtian will still focus on outdoor competitions in 2019, which will maintain relatively high competition density and intensity in general. Su Bingtian had previously revealed, “in April, I will participate in the Asian Championship, followed by the world track and field relay in May. These two competitions plus the Doha World Championship, it was my three most important events in 2019.”

As the key team of race team in Lijiang New Year, the key teaching group within Chinas track and field team won a lot of world competitions such as Olympic Games and World Championships in China race team, it is also the key winning event of the Chinese team in the Doha world track and field championships.

During the winter training in race team, China was divided into foreign teachers group and internal education group. Foreign coaches led by Damilano included Wang Rui, Wang Qin, sister Che Yangshi, LV Xiuzhi and other famous generals, the internal education group led by domestic coach Zhang Fuxin is also luxurious, including Yang Jiayu, Wang Kaihua, Liang Rui and other backbone forces.

According to Zhang Fuxin, the head coach of the inner Education Group, in order to prepare for the Doha world championship, the winter training of the inner education group in China race team is divided into three stages: the first stage is in Qinhuangdao, lasting for one and a half months; the second stage is in Dujiangyan, Sichuan, and the training has ended on January 6. The current third stage is in Lijiang, Yunnan, and the training will last until the end of February. In order to ensure the quality of training, even during the Spring Festival, the team is hardly idle.

The previous world championships in track and field were held in August, and this year’s World Championships in Doha were postponed for nearly a month. In view of the changes in competition time, the coaching staff also paid attention to the training intensity during winter training, the content has been adjusted, Zhang Fuxin revealed, “it must be changed. This year’s training needs to control the rhythm and training volume.”

Yang Jiayu is the champion of the London World Championship in 2017 and the “first sister” of China’s race team at present. She defended her honor in the women’s 20km race at the Jakarta Asian Games. Wang Kaihua defeated Japanese players in the Jakarta Asian Games and won the men’s 20-kilometer race. He is a well-deserved leader in Chinese men’s race. In the world walking championship held in May 2018, Liang Rui finished the race with a score of 4 hours and 4 minutes 36 seconds, creating a new world record and fully winning the London World Championship, the original record of Portuguese veteran henriicks increased by 1 minute 20 seconds.

The above three players are the absolute main force of China’s race team, and they are also the key players for the team to win gold and silver in the Doha world track and field championships. According to Zhang Fuxin, the team’s goal in the world championship is to strive for three medals, “the key projects are Wang Kaihua’s men’s 20 kilometers, yang Jiayu’s woman is 20 kilometers and Liang Rui’s woman is 50 kilometers. As long as they play normally, they should all be able to enter the top three. We hope they can fight for at least one gold medal.”

Pay attention to the situation that the middle and long distance running teams are scattered abroad for training

similar to that in China race team. During winter training, the middle and long distance running training teams also divide the teams into foreign teachers and internal education groups, and there are marathon groups. Considering the large gap between some projects and foreign high-level players, Tian Guan center sent most of the team members to foreign countries for training, utilizing foreign high-quality resources, through training and competition with foreign high-level players, prepare for the World Championship more scientifically.

At present, many players, including Wang Chunyu, the women’s 800 m champion of Jakarta Asian Games, are training in the United States. In addition to daily training, the players will also participate in many indoor track and field events in the United States. Including dobger, the bronze winner of the men’s marathon at the Jakarta Asian Games, many marathon masters are currently training outside Ethiopia. The training lasted from December 27, 2018 to middle March this year.

Tian Xiaojun, deputy director of Tian management center, believes that similar overseas training is necessary, which is an essential way to improve the level of China’s middle and long distance running. Tian Xiaojun said, “we can improve our competitiveness by competing and training with foreign players. At present, Sprint is a better practice. We have trained and competed abroad all the year round, and our performance has improved significantly, this is also applicable to the middle and long distance running project. It is no accident that some middle and long-distance running teams went to East Africa this year to train with long-distance runners such as Ethiopia and Kenya, it will further improve the level of these athletes.”

Now It coincides with the Spring Festival in China. The members of the middle and long distance running training team far away from a foreign country have no chance to reunite with their families and are still focusing on training. Although the winter training is relatively long and the content is relatively boring, this is the daily life of athletes. In order to achieve better results in the 2019 season and realize their dreams, this is the only way to go.

Uzbekistan coach Cooper: unable to evaluate Cannavaro’s work

Xinhua News Agency, Nanning, March 22 (Reporter Wei Hua, Lu Xianting) Cooper, the head coach of the Uzbekistan team who led the team to participate in the 2019 China Cup in Nanning, said on the 22nd that although he watched the match between the Chinese team and the Thai team the day before, however, it is impossible to evaluate the work of national football coach Cannavaro.

In the game on the 21st, the Chinese team lost to Thailand at 0:1, and the first show after Cannavaro took over the team ended in defeat. Although Cooper said earlier that Cannavaro would become an excellent coach if he had “mentor and Apprentice” with himself in Inter Milan, but it is not appropriate to evaluate his work after a match.

Cooper said: “I watched the match between China and Thailand, but I am not suitable to evaluate Cannavaro’s work. Cannavaro took over the Chinese team for a short time, and the coach needed a long time to build the team.”

In the match of that day, Uzbekistan lost three goals to the South American team Uruguay, but Cooper admitted frankly that such a match was conducive to future preparations. “Uruguay is one of the best teams in the world. We lost the ball too fast in the first half. We had a chance in the second half, but we still lost. Playing against teams like Uruguay is beneficial for us to prepare for the next World Cup qualifier.”

On the 25th, Uzbekistan will play against the Chinese team and look forward to the game. Cooper said: “In the game with the Chinese team, we will do our best to show the dignity of the team and win beauty. This game is very important and will affect the ranking of the team. We need to do our best.”

Approaching the meteorological forecast service team of 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics

Ji xueshuai (left) put up a bracket with his teammates and measured the snow temperature with an infrared thermometer. Our reporter Guo Jingyuan photo

On the morning of January 26, Liu Huayue, a forecaster who was training in the meteorological bureau of Chongli district, Zhangjiakou, Hebei province, received an urgent notice that Zhang Yu, his teammate, was injured by observation instruments during field observation in Chongli Snow Farm, I had to go to the hospital for examination and treatment, and the next observation task needed him to top up. “In fact, Zhang Yu was injured two days ago, but he had been enduring it and insisted on working with the injury.” Liu Huayue said.

In the past two years, there were not only athletes but also forecasters in Chongli winter training. The 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics will be held in Beijing and Zhangjiakou. This winter Olympics will also be the one with the largest number of items, with 109 items in total. Among them, ice projects account for about 30% and skiing events accounts for about 70%. Zhangjiakou Chongli Division undertakes most of the outdoor skiing events.

“Meteorological conditions are a key factor for the success of the Winter Olympics.” Wang Zongmin, deputy director of Hebei Meteorological Observatory, said, especially the snow sports held outdoors, are greatly restricted by meteorological conditions. Wind speed, wind speed, temperature, snow temperature, etc. may affect the arrangement of events, athlete performance and personal safety. Not only that, it is different from the marine climate of the host of the previous Winter Olympics, which is also the first time to hold the Winter Olympics in a continental monsoon climate city. Guo Hong, deputy director of Zhangjiakou Meteorological Observatory, said frankly that the difficulty of meteorological service and security was only increased compared with previous years.

At the beginning of 2018, the first batch of meteorological forecast service teams in Hebei competition area entered Chongli to carry out practical training, and now the team has expanded to 36 people. They are all young and middle-aged meteorological forecast technical backbones from the National Meteorological Center and Hebei, Heilongjiang, Jilin, Inner Mongolia and other places.

From January 6 to March 18, the winter training in 2019 in Hebei competition area was carried out intensively. The team is divided into reddish yellow white 3 teams every 12 days and conducts transition training in three stations of Hebei Meteorological Observatory (Shijiazhuang), Zhangjiakou Meteorological Bureau and Chongli meteorological bureau every 12 days.

“Mountains are connected to mountains, continuous. The number of ditches is infinite.” This is a gift among the local population. In addition to extremely a varied topography conditions, the surrounding areas of Chongli are all semi-arid areas, while Chongli belongs to semi-humid areas. Its unique geographical location causes the local special “microclimate”, low temperature, bad weather such as strong wind is performed here every day……

In the Genting Snow Field in Chongli district, Ji xueshuai, a member of the red team wearing cold protective clothing, snow goggles and windproof mask, is measuring the snow temperature with an infrared thermometer and recording the data later. Then, he and his teammates also used hand-held meteorological measuring instruments to measure wind speed, temperature, relative humidity and other projects. “Different positions of each track need to be measured in order to be familiar with the meteorological environment of the track and accumulate data and experience to continuously improve weather forecast products. Every time I go up the mountain for four or five hours, I walk nearly 20,000 steps.” Ji Xue Shuai said.

“Chongli’s mountain road is very special. Stones are attached to the soft soil, and there are bushes and weeds growing in the room. Sometimes when walking down the mountain road, the shoes are rotten. The measuring instrument was frozen in a few seconds, but we must hold on.” The high-intensity work made Liu Huayue feel more pressure. Near the Spring Festival, he was at home in Shijiazhuang and had no mind to consider going home for the new year.

Now, this weather forecast service team has officially started to provide weather forecast for 29 competition stations; Facing the demand of meteorological service to guarantee scientific and technological research, Hebei Meteorological Bureau has built a case library of high-impact weather in the competition area, the research and construction of the forecast index system of the competition area is being carried out. All these have given us more confidence and confidence to welcome the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics.
