Indonesia officially announced its bid to host the 2032 Olympic Games

Xinhua News Agency, Jakarta, February 19 the Indonesian Olympic Committee announced on the 19th that after the successful hosting of the 2018 Asian Games, Indonesia has officially submitted the procedures for bidding for the 2032 Olympic Games.

According to the Indonesian Olympic Committee, the Indonesian ambassador to Switzerland submitted the letters from Indonesian President Joko and Indonesian Olympic Committee to the president of the International Olympic Committee Bach in Lausanne last week. Its Olympic committee officials said that Indonesia was ready to host the Olympic Games and needed the support of all the citizens and the international community.

Hanoi, Vietnam, originally scheduled to host the 18th Asian Games, suddenly announced in 2014 that it would give up the right to host because of economic pressure. Then Jakarta expressed its willingness to take over. Before, there had been doubts about whether Indonesia could successfully hold this event involving more than 10,000 athletes, but the successful holding of the 2018 Asian Games was recognized by the International Olympic Committee.
